Laura Verónica — Daniela's mother
Good evening, dear family and cherished friends.
Thank you for being here and for filling this place with your affection and presence.
I will be brief, because what we want today is to celebrate, to toast, and to enjoy this evening that brings us together to lovingly accompany the union of Daniela and David.
First of all, I honor the memory of all the parents who are no longer physically with us, but whose memory, light, and legacy allow us to be here today.
I am deeply grateful to each of you for making the effort to reach this corner of the world to be with our children. I know it was not easy, and for that reason your presence carries immense value. To me, it is the full expression of affection, solidarity, and friendship toward them and toward our families — as it has been throughout Daniela’s life, in which all of you have watched her grow up and become the wonderful woman who today begins a new chapter.
Ever since these two young people surprised us with the sudden news of their union, they have filled us with joy, and we have received countless gestures of affection, support, and good wishes. Thank you all for being part of this story.
David, today we give you and all your family the warmest welcome to our big Mexican family. We receive you all with open arms and a joyful heart.
To Daniela and David, I wish you only a life full of love, respect, companionship, patience, and lots of laughter.
Walk together always with tenderness, and even on the difficult days, remember that love is a daily choice — it is cared for and cultivated in every moment.
I raise a toast to you, to this new beginning, and to the privilege of being able to celebrate it with my mother, siblings, nieces and nephews, family, and dearest friends.
THANK YOU
¡¡¡¡¡Cheers to the bride and groom!!!!!
Federico — Daniela's father
Good afternoon, dear guests — family, friends, and companions.
What we are celebrating today, the union of Daniela and David, began on an afternoon in March 2025 in Playa del Carmen. From that very first encounter — in which Dani’s pet, Crash, played an important role (Cupid, perhaps?) — there was something special. Some call it chemistry, others coincidence; I believe it was simply love at first sight.
What is extraordinary is that they didn’t only find each other — they also had the clarity and the courage to recognize very quickly that they wanted to build a life together. And they did so despite more than 8,500 kilometers of distance: Daniela in Playa del Carmen and David in Zürich, Switzerland.
Dani, with her joy, her energy, and her gift for connecting with people, found in David someone serene, intelligent, and of great human quality. And David found in Daniela a companion who lights up any place she arrives in. They are different in many ways, but it is precisely for that reason that they complement each other so well.
I had the good fortune of watching Dani grow up, especially from her teenage years onward, and we have shared a good part of our lives together. I love her very much. That is why it especially moves me to see her so happy today.
Dani and David, David and Dani are a couple whose story shows that, sometimes, the most important things in life happen when we least expect them.
I wish you both, with all my heart, a life full of love, respect, adventure, and companionship. May you never lose the ability to look at each other with the same excitement as on that afternoon in Playa del Carmen!!
To Daniela and David!
Cheers.
Jelena — David's mother
My dear children!
Today is that true moment when love transforms into something more. You found each other not by chance — you were made to walk through life together. May your hearts always be as close as they are today, and as in that moment when you felt you were made for one another. May every new day bring you only joy and new reasons to smile at each other. The two of you are now a whole world, full of love, trust, and support. May there always be room in this world for laughter, tenderness, and those small rituals that make you a family.
Wishes for Daniela
Dear Daniela, congratulations! You are wonderful, gentle, and full of light, and now beside you stands a man who treasures this without limit. Today you truly shine. May love be your foundation, may your husband admire you every day, and may happiness live in every corner of your home. You deserve the brightest future, and may it begin right now.
Wishes for David
Happy day, my son! Congratulations beyond measure!
You have been given the very best woman in this world. Admire her always and surround her with care. Bring her flowers and gifts even without an occasion!
I wish that even on ordinary days, amid the routine and the worries, you would pause for a second and catch yourself thinking:
“How lucky I am.”
Love, cherish, and protect this miracle — your love!
Lina — David's grandmother & Jelena's mom
Greetings from far-away Latvia.
My dear children David and Daniela!
I congratulate you on this great celebration, a celebration of love and happiness!
My dear David, my beloved boy. The memories of when you were very small and took your first steps, when you spoke your first words, are always alive in my heart. I remember how we walked along the shore of our sea, swam, and built sandcastles.
You grew up on the shore of the Baltic Sea, and you met your love Daniela on the shore of another sea. And today you take an even more important step — a step into your new family life, where you must take responsibility both for yourself and for your beautiful wife Daniela.
I wish that the joy of one of you will always be the joy of the other. Learn to hear each other, to yield, and to support one another. May your life together be bright, interesting, and happy. May your love grow only stronger with each passing year. May understanding, warmth, and comfort always reign in your home.
I wish you bright sunrises, cozy evenings, and endless happiness.
May love and harmony be with you!
Daniela — The bride
Standing here in front of you and surrounded by the people who represent every stage of our lives, the best answer I can give is that love simply arrives — it arrives in the form of your first friend at school, it arrives with the neighbors who make you feel at home far away from her, with family itself, and even with the friends you inherit.
We were the instant, the moment in which our paths crossed, and from that day on I have given the most certain and easiest “yes” of my life — yes to accepting to walk with the stranger who was so familiar (at least he was familiar to my dog, who greeted him with so much joy), yes to seeing each other again, yes to traveling together, yes to seeking each other and finding each other again, yes to climbing mountains and coming back down them, yes to being your wife, and today once again I say yes to spending the rest of my life with the most wonderful person who exists in this world. Because as long as I exist, you will always be loved and admired — and how could it be otherwise? If I love you twenty-four hours a second, if I love you the way my family taught me to love, and I do it with all the depth, breadth, and boundless vastness of the soul.
How limiting words are when it comes to expressing what we feel; their scarcest point is when given the task of speaking about love, because they are both too many and too few — but at least they help us communicate, give form, and create a certain permanence of what someone once felt, or in my case what I have felt many times.
I love us. The singular ends and everything sounds plural, because we are not two but one — because as long as you want me in your life, there I will be, sharing our movie afternoons, our love for nature, you who walk it and I who observe it, always complementary and in tune with one another.
Knowing that today we are surrounded by what has shaped us, and at the same time by what we ourselves have built, is the greatest display of love and the best gift we could receive to begin our new story as a family — our small and longed-for world full of joys and challenges.
If we cry, may it be from happiness; if we laugh, may the laughter be contagious; if we later fall, may we know that there is a hand waiting to lift us up… let us remember, reflect, and be grateful for yesterday, today, and tomorrow, always.
Let’s not go on with sentimentalisms and deep reflections, because today is a day to celebrate. Thank you to everyone here. One last thing before I finish, as a piece of advice: always remember to take your dog out for a walk ;)
David — The groom
Opening
Good evening, everyone. Since most of you here are from Mexico, I’ll do parts of this in Spanish.
¡Buenas noches a todos! Como la mayoría de ustedes son de México, voy a hacer partes de esto en español. Eso es todo. Nada más. (means: Good evening everyone! Since most of you are from Mexico, I’m going to do parts of this in Spanish. That’s all. Nothing more.)
Thank you all for being here and travelling so far to celebrate with us tonight.
The Love Story
So, how did we get here? It started with a holiday.
I went to Mexico for two weeks last year. I stayed, metaphorically, forever.
March: I met Daniela. July: I was on one knee in the Alps. February: she moved continents. Tonight: we’re married.
Our love happened fast, but it’s just right. It was just right in the first moments we met, and it feels right every day.
And every day since, I look at you Daniela and think, yeah, this is always right.
Thank Yous
None of this would be possible without the people who got us here.
Thank you to both our families for raising us and supporting us every step of the way.
Thank you, Mom and Dad, for raising me.
Thank you, Laura Verónica and Federico, for raising such a wonderful woman.
Thanks to my brothers and my friends, I’m so glad I can lean on you.
Thanks to Daniela’s friends, you bring her so much joy, and that means the world to me.
Also, to the most important vote of confidence I received, Crash, our dog. Tu eres un adorable perro (means: You are an adorable dog)
Daniela
Daniela, I love you so much.
I’m so grateful we found each other. You are the sunshine in my life, you motivate me, guide me, and calm me when I need it. You make me laugh. You are honest and sincere, never holding back what you think. You accept me even when I’m being difficult. And, I love the food you cook :)
I’m so excited about our future together.
Toast
Daniela, I love you.
Please raise a glass.
As I’ve learned in Spanish: ¡Arriba, abajo, al centro, pa’ dentro! (popular drinking toast, literally means: “Up, down, to the center, inside!”)
Jalenle al aqua! (saying that Federico always says when toasting, means something like “Drink up”)
